Teaching Professor – First Year Engineering

Responsibilities

• Deliver project-based, cornerstone courses to first-year engineering students using a Cornerstone approach.
• Develop new course themes and projects, including service learning, to match instructor interests.
• Collaborate with a team of faculty to develop curricula, content, and delivery methods.
• Participate in department, university, and professional service activities.
• Engage in student-centered activities such as advising, recruiting, and mentoring.
• Conduct educational research and contribute to the university's Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning Through Research.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree (or foreign equivalent) in engineering or a closely related science or engineering field.
• Demonstrated teaching experience.
• Strong commitment to project-based learning and undergraduate mentorship.
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in educational scholarship or research related to instruction.
• Ability to teach discipline-specific undergraduate engineering courses.
