About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver project-based, cornerstone courses to first-year engineering students using a Cornerstone approach.
- Develop new course themes and projects, including service learning, to match instructor interests.
- Collaborate with a team of faculty to develop curricula, content, and delivery methods.
- Participate in department, university, and professional service activities.
- Engage in student-centered activities such as advising, recruiting, and mentoring.
- Conduct educational research and contribute to the university's Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning Through Research.
Requirements
- Doctorate degree (or foreign equivalent) in engineering or a closely related science or engineering field.
- Demonstrated teaching experience.
- Strong commitment to project-based learning and undergraduate mentorship.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in educational scholarship or research related to instruction.
- Ability to teach discipline-specific undergraduate engineering courses.
