Teaching Assistant

Responsibilities

• Prepare media and reagents for laboratory activities
• Assist in the construction, assembly, testing, and operation of laboratory equipment
• Set up teaching laboratories and manage the distribution of supplies to faculty
• Maintain cleanliness of lab rooms, equipment, and supplies while following safety procedures
• Supervise laboratory sessions and assist students during chemical or biological experiments
• Grade lab reports and quizzes and proctor exams under the direction of the course instructor

Requirements

• Must be a full-time student at Washington Adventist University
• Scientific knowledge and skills at the college lower or upper level
• At least one year of college laboratory experience in chemistry or biology
• Strong leadership, oral communication, and interpersonal skills

Benefits

• Competitive hourly rate of $17.65 - $21.15, based on science course experience
• Flexible time commitment of approximately 6 hours per week
