Teaching Assistant

Responsibilities

• Prepare media and reagents for laboratory activities
• Assist in the construction, assembly, testing, and operation of laboratory equipment
• Set up teaching laboratories and manage the distribution of supplies to faculty
• Maintain cleanliness of lab rooms, equipment, and supplies while enforcing safety procedures
• Supervise the lab and assist students during chemical or biological experiments
• Grade lab reports and quizzes and proctor exams under the direction of the course instructor

Requirements

• Must be a full-time student at Washington Adventist University
• College-level scientific knowledge and skills in biology or chemistry
• At least one year of college laboratory experience in chemistry or biology
• Strong leadership, oral communication, and interpersonal skills

Benefits

• Competitive hourly rate of $17.65 - $21.15 per hour, based on experience
• Flexible time commitment of approximately 6 hours per week
