Teaching Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional services and support to students under the supervision of a certified teacher
• Help prepare teaching materials and environment to support instruction
• Maintain data collection to ensure success of academic and behavioral plans
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children and staff
• Assist in managing student behaviors and crisis intervention
• Participate in team meetings as appropriate

Requirements

• NYS Teaching Assistant Certification (Level I, II, III, or Pre-Professional)
• High School Diploma or equivalent (Associates preferred)
• Ability to work in a high-paced and stressful environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum
• Bilingual skills
