Teacher of Politics

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and challenging Politics lessons across the 11–18 age range, including up to KS5
• Foster a deep understanding of historical events, political systems, and contemporary issues
• Support students of all abilities to achieve their full potential through adaptive teaching
• Act as a Form Tutor, providing high-quality pastoral care and guidance to students
• Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities, trips, and co-curricular opportunities
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan lessons, monitor student progress, and communicate with parents

Requirements

• Relevant degree in Politics or a related field
• Professional teaching qualification
• Proven experience teaching the 11–18 age range
• Strong subject knowledge in Politics
• Experience in curriculum development and designing schemes of work
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative professional approach
