About the role

Responsibilities

  • Implement and deliver a broad, balanced, and differentiated History curriculum for students
  • Monitor and support the academic progress and personal development of students as a teacher and form tutor
  • Plan lessons, develop resources, and contribute to departmental strategic planning
  • Maintain accurate records and track student progress to raise attainment standards
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other stakeholders regarding academic and pastoral matters
  • Participate in continuous professional development and quality assurance processes

Requirements

  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Possess a relevant undergraduate degree in History or a related field
  • Proven teaching experience at the secondary level (including teaching practice)
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum requirements for KS3 and KS4
  • Proficient ICT skills, including the use of interactive whiteboards and digital learning tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and maintain positive professional relationships
