About the role

Responsibilities

  • Establish and be accountable for outstanding provision within Religious Studies and PSHE.
  • Ensure high standards of teaching and learning through continuous development and enhancement.
  • Oversee and coordinate the delivery of PSHE across all Key Stages to foster student wellbeing and social responsibility.
  • Formulate annual subject improvement plans (SIP) and develop innovative syllabuses, resources, and assessment policies.
  • Monitor and support student progress and attainment across all relevant Key Stages.
  • Lead development for literacy within the subject area to raise standards across the Academy.
  • Manage and deploy teaching staff and resources effectively in collaboration with the Faculty Director.

Requirements

  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Possess a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Minimum of one year of teaching experience.
  • Proven track record of success in raising student achievement.
  • High level of ICT skills and experience using technology to enhance learning.
  • Experience in innovative curriculum development and Assessment for Learning.
  • Ability to implement strategies to improve literacy and numeracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to teach social sciences, such as sociology or psychology.
