Teacher Assistant

Responsibilities

• Work directly with children in classrooms, providing care and assisting teaching staff under supervision
• Model appropriate practices and assist children with direct care needs, including bathroom assistance
• Greet families upon arrival and at pick-up time
• Help children engage in activities and interact with them in one-on-one or small group settings
• Assist in planning and facilitating developmentally appropriate curriculum (Reggio Emilia or Montessori approaches)
• Observe, document, and evaluate children's learning through checklists, photos, and anecdotal notes
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and inclusive learning environment for children birth to twelve years
• Perform general cleaning responsibilities to ensure excellent childcare

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Strong work ethic and dependable with excellent attendance
• Flexible and able to adapt to a variety of situations
• Willingness to learn and grow in an early childhood setting
• Enjoyment of interacting with young children (infant through preschool)
• Ability to adhere to Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers
• Ability to pass a TB test and criminal record check via LARA Fingerprinting

Preferred Qualifications

• Education related to early childhood, nursing, psychology, social work, or related fields
• Previous experience working with young children
