Teacher Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide support to classroom teachers to ensure a safe and stimulating educational environment
• Assist in curriculum implementation, lesson planning, and daily activity preparation
• Maintain a safe and organized physical environment for children
• Help with daily record keeping, data collection, and appropriate reporting
• Communicate effectively with team members, Program Directors, and Laboratory Coordinators
• Maintain informal contact with parents and participate in parent social or educational functions
• Assist in guiding college student participation in the classroom when appropriate

Requirements

• High school degree
• One year of experience working with preschool-age children
• Must be eligible for unsupervised access to children per the CT Commissioner of Early Childhood (to be designated within four months of hire)
