Teacher Aide

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials, classroom displays, and administrative records
• Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher, working with individual students or small groups
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom and assist with the care and maintenance of equipment
• Assist with the administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments
• Supervise students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers
• Keep teachers informed of special needs or problems regarding individual students
• Participate in staff development training, faculty meetings, and special events
• Support distance learning and virtual instruction as required during school closures or emergencies

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or a minimum of 48 completed college hours
• Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate
• Experience working with children
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
