Teacher Aide

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, preparing, and implementing the daily early learning program
• Prepare the learning environment, materials, and supplies
• Maintain a clean, safe classroom environment
• Communicate regularly with parents as directed by a supervisor
• Support volunteers and assist other centers as requested
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children
• Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and employees
• Attend meetings and participate in professional growth activities

Requirements

• GED or high school diploma
• Pass a health screening and TB test
• Pass background fingerprint clearance
• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
• Immunization records complying with Senate Bill 792 (measles, pertussis, influenza)
• Required to be a mandated abuse reporter

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Prior experience working with young children
• 6 ECE units preferred
