Teacher 1

Responsibilities

• Supervise children ages two months to five years during indoor and outdoor activities, meals, snacks, and nap time
• Direct classroom staff and train support staff through role modeling and verbal explanation
• Prepare written reports regarding conferences, child observations, and staff evaluations
• Ensure the safety of children by acting quickly in hazardous situations and providing first aid when necessary
• Work cooperatively with other staff members to maintain a high-quality total child care program
• Resolve conflicts effectively with both children and adults

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in the field of early childhood education
• 24 ECE Units
• Three units of coursework in Infant Development
• CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing permit (Teacher level or higher)
• Pediatric CPR and first aid certification
• Ability to lift and carry children and objects up to 40 pounds frequently
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (speaking, reading, and writing)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Child Development
• Experience using kitchen utensils and appliances safely for meal preparation
