TBM Operator

Responsibilities

• Oversee successful TBM drives through correct planning and effective management of change
• Assemble, maintain, and operate complex tunnel boring systems
• Check plans, drawings, site surveys, and documentation
• Mobilize systems to required functional and safe layouts
• Set out detailed works as per contract drawings and perform regular checks
• Use detailed knowledge of Herrenknecht and Iseki machines for assembly, setup, and disassembly
• Carry out inspections of TBM equipment to ensure optimal standards for quality and safety
• Monitor tunnel line and grade to ensure alignment remains within tolerances
• Maintain accurate records of jacking operations
• Participate in operations meetings and provide input into daily reports
• Monitor excavation material, slurry, and lubrication systems
• Provide engineering support to overcome technical problems
• Ensure quality control requirements are met and recorded per client specification

Requirements

• Solid experience working on major civil engineering and tunnelling projects
• Proven specialized experience operating Herrenknecht or Iseki microtunnel boring systems
• Experience working in variable ground conditions
• Detailed mechanical knowledge of Herrenknecht and Iseki machines including assembly and maintenance
• Sound knowledge of construction methods, Health & Safety, and legal regulations
• High level of technical expertise and problem-solving skills
• Proven troubleshooting abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
