Tax Manager

About the Company

Vogel is one of Germany's leading SME consultancies, a family-owned business since 1959, building the leading consulting platform for the Mittelstand. We are expanding our presence with a new hub in Munich.

Responsibilities

• Manage an existing client portfolio including annual financial statements, tax returns, and ongoing advisory
• Act as the direct contact person for owners and managing directors of medium-sized companies
• Actively develop the client base through cross-selling and new mandate acquisition
• Support the acquisition of new mandates in collaboration with management and business development
• Build and lead an associate layer (associates, working students, interns) over the next 12-24 months
• Contribute to the development of tax standards, tooling, and internal knowledge bases

Requirements

• Completed Steuerberater exam (or very close to completion)
• 1-3 years of experience post-exam at a Big Four, Next-6, or focused SME practice
• Proven experience in client responsibility
• Deep tax expertise in at least one area (e.g., SMEs, partnerships, succession, or international structures)
• Strong communication skills for high-level client interactions
• Proficiency in using AI tools for research, drafting, and analysis
• Entrepreneurial mindset and focus on relationship-based client work

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with business development or network activity in professional associations
• Experience in building teams or mentoring junior staff
