About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform clerical and data entry duties to maintain accurate tax records in computerized files
- Provide general information to the public regarding tax laws and policies
- Handle public contact work with tact, courtesy, and firmness
- Provide general clerical support to the Tax Administration Department
- Exercise initiative and independent judgment in daily tasks
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of clerical or financial experience (tax-related experience preferred)
- Valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver’s license
- Ability to successfully complete North Carolina Department of Revenue certification
