About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform clerical and data entry duties to maintain accurate tax records in computerized files
  • Provide general information to the public regarding tax laws and policies
  • Handle public contact work with tact, courtesy, and firmness
  • Provide general clerical support to the Tax Administration Department
  • Exercise initiative and independent judgment in daily tasks

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of clerical or financial experience (tax-related experience preferred)
  • Valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver’s license
  • Ability to successfully complete North Carolina Department of Revenue certification
