Tax Information and Withholding Advisor, Executive Director

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and interpret new IRS information reporting and withholding tax guidance, including laws, regulations, and revenue rulings.
• Partner with business units to determine the impact of tax guidance on products, procedures, and tax documentation.
• Monitor new products and transactions to ensure compliance with current information reporting and withholding rules.
• Research and respond to internal inquiries regarding tax documentation, client types, and complex transaction structures.
• Provide guidance to businesses on year-end tax reporting, including Forms 1099, 1098, and 1042-S filings.
• Prepare and present training and comment on newly proposed regulations and industry issues.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of US information reporting and withholding tax advisory experience.
• Broad knowledge of financial products, including investment funds.
• Ability to synthesize complex regulations into terms easily understood by non-tax professionals.
• Strong, clear, and concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to oversee multiple projects and work independently.
• Ability to build positive relationships with business partners and team members.

Preferred Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
