Tax Director

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax provisions and income tax returns ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Manage tax payments and coordinate with external preparers and auditors
• Identify and mitigate tax compliance risks and potential disputes
• Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize benefits and minimize liabilities
• Provide tax advice to internal teams on projects, transactions, and strategic initiatives
• Monitor and evaluate the financial impact of tax changes on the company
• Lead and coordinate tax audits and act as liaison with tax authorities
• Implement improvements to tax processes and systems using best practices and technology

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in corporate taxation
• Demonstrated expertise in Canadian tax regulations and filing requirements
• Strong understanding of tax compliance, planning, and risk management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA designation or Master's in taxation
• Completion of an advanced tax program
• US tax experience
• Experience with CaseWare and/or Taxprep
