Tax Director

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in tax planning, compliance, and control across all AMEA Power operations.
• Ensure compliance with international tax laws, including corporate tax, transfer pricing, PAYE, and indirect taxes.
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate taxation risks while providing strategic recommendations to Executives.
• Develop and implement systems to manage tax information, filings, and timely return submissions across all jurisdictions.
• Optimize taxation expenses by identifying tax savings and integrating tax planning into company strategy.
• Act as the custodian of the company's transfer pricing policy and ensure compliance with dual tax agreements.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments to capitalize on changes in taxation legislation.
• Manage relationships with tax advisors and tax authorities, and facilitate tax audits.
• Support Project Finance and M&A-Investments with tax-related advice and analysis.

Requirements

• Master of Science in Taxation.
• CPA or equivalent professional designation with completion of in-depth tax courses.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in tax planning and compliance.
• Extensive international corporate tax experience, specifically within various African countries.
• Expert knowledge of tax codes, compliance, and corporate procedures.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in French or Arabic is a plus.
• Strong project management and accounting best practices.
