Tax Associate

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual and quarterly GAAP and Statutory tax provisions
• Assist with the preparation and review of U.S. federal, state, and local tax returns, estimates, and payments
• Prepare tax forecast modeling and monthly tax journal entries
• Perform quarterly tax reconciliations and maintain the tax compliance calendar
• Assist with sales, use, and other indirect tax compliance functions
• Prepare financial data, analysis, and modeling to support tax projects
• Prepare audit and notice responses
• Identify and implement process improvements to support tax compliance and planning

Requirements

• 4+ years of tax experience in a public accounting firm or equivalent corporate tax department experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or 4 years of commensurate experience

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA and/or Master’s of Taxation
• Experience with the preparation of corporate tax provisions
• Experience in the insurance industry
• Knowledge of Statement of Statutory Accounting Principle (SSAP) 101 tax reporting
• Experience implementing tax provision software
