Tax Associate

Responsibilities

• Assist with partnership and corporate taxation from planning, compliance, and reporting perspectives
• Liaise with external tax consultants and preparers to ensure accurate local, state, federal, and international filings
• Manage the ongoing sales tax compliance process for both physical and digital goods
• Maintain the tax calendar to ensure timely payments and filings
• Support monthly and quarterly close processes through tax-related account reconciliations and analysis
• Assist with tax footnotes and related disclosures for consolidated financial statements
• Collaborate with business functions to manage tax considerations for film accounting, global entity structures, and international distribution
• Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments to implement appropriate policy updates
• Evaluate and implement technical solutions for data retrieval and process improvement

Requirements

• 3+ years of tax reporting and compliance experience with a large public accounting firm or large public company
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• US CPA certification is required
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform independent research and document tax positions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the Film/TV industry
• Experience implementing sales tax engines such as Avalara, Vertex, or TaxJar
• Demonstrated experience implementing technical solutions to replace manual processes

• Target salary range of $90,000 to $110,000
