Responsibilities

• Perform welding duties using a wire welder to join steel components
• Set up and lay out work using jigs, fixtures, or hand layouts to fabricate parts
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and job specifications
• Collaborate with fitters and welders to assist in the fabrication of multi-component parts
• Operate various equipment including forklifts, hoists, grinders, cutting torches, and hand power tools
• Inspect welds to ensure they meet product specifications and correct them as necessary
• Comply with all safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations
• Maintain equipment and notify supervisors of any necessary repairs

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the field or a related area
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layouts
• Proficiency with wire welders and various hand tools
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
