About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, and implement operating system components, software tools, and utilities.
- Support the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, integration, and deployment.
- Serve as an individual contributor on a software development team to ensure successful system improvements.
- Utilize Linux environments, containerization platforms, and CI/CD pipelines to maintain reliable software infrastructure.
- Coordinate requirements and communicate technical progress with internal teams and external DoD stakeholders.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience developing or maintaining software tools or systems-level components for defense or government programs.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with operating system concepts including process management, memory management, and file systems.
- Experience with software testing methodologies and Agile/Scrum development processes.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to federal research contract requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or Certificate in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Engineering.
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD or k3s.
- Demonstrated experience in test-driven design and automated testing frameworks.
- Experience in complex event processing, domain modelling, or agent development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation.
