About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, debug, and implement operating system components, software tools, and utilities.
  • Support the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, integration, and deployment.
  • Serve as an individual contributor on a software development team to ensure successful system improvements.
  • Utilize Linux environments, containerization platforms, and CI/CD pipelines to maintain reliable software infrastructure.
  • Coordinate requirements and communicate technical progress with internal teams and external DoD stakeholders.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience developing or maintaining software tools or systems-level components for defense or government programs.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with operating system concepts including process management, memory management, and file systems.
  • Experience with software testing methodologies and Agile/Scrum development processes.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to federal research contract requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or Certificate in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD or k3s.
  • Demonstrated experience in test-driven design and automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience in complex event processing, domain modelling, or agent development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation.
