Systems Safety Engineer

Responsibilities

• Plan, define, and verify system safety requirements to ensure design integrity for aerospace applications
• Develop and execute safety analyses including Functional Hazard Assessments and Safety Assessment Reporting
• Perform Fault Tree generation, FMEA, and FMECA to identify and mitigate potential failure modes
• Support commercial certification processes and military safety review boards
• Conduct reliability and maintainability analysis, including the development of program plans and procedures
• Evaluate software considerations and airborne electronic hardware for aerospace systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in aerospace safety principles
• Direct expertise in SAE ARP4761 or MIL-STD-882 analyses
• Proven experience in conducting system safety analysis, fault tree creation, and FMEA/FMECA generation
• Strong understanding of Reliability Engineering principles and statistical analyses
• U.S. citizenship is required
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of gas turbine engines and turbomachinery failure modes
• Comprehension of electro-mechanical components and electrical/mechanical engineering principles
• Experience assessing system designs for maintainability and developing work instructions
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
