Systems Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage a Systems Operations team of analysts responsible for monitoring installed systems and infrastructure
• Identify and recommend opportunities to increase system efficiency and reduce manual intervention through automation
• Make critical decisions regarding operating systems, application software, and system management tools
• Interpret and develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance and risk management requirements are met
• Manage the allocation of personnel and financial resources for the Systems Operations functional area
• Mentor and guide talent development for direct reports and assist in the hiring process
• Lead incident triage and resolution for high-severity production issues, coordinating with engineering and vendors

Requirements

• 5+ years of Systems Engineering or Technology Architecture experience
• 2+ years of leadership experience managing teams or analysts
• Functional knowledge of Linux and Windows environments
• Experience managing and triaging workloads on OpenShift or Kubernetes
• Familiarity with ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, and Change Management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading L2 support for banking and finance platforms (Payments, Liquidity, or Risk applications)
• Strong understanding of SRE concepts, including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets
• Experience with observability tools to monitor system health, transaction failures, and batch processing
• Foundational understanding of cloud services and an awareness of GenAI use cases in operational support
