Systems Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Participate in complex technical issues and initiatives related to large-scale applications, systems, and databases
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within technical support strategies and plans
• Review and analyze technical queries to extract data and perform limited programming to fine-tune systems
• Present recommendations for resolving complex technical queries and analyze performance trends
• Act as an internal consultant regarding the use of tools and processes
• Provide technical information and support to functional colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders

Requirements

• 2+ years of Systems Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, or education
• Expertise in Unix and Windows operating systems
• Strong experience in automation using scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or Python
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (Oracle/MySQL) and proficiency in SQL queries
• Expertise in ITIL processes, including Change, Incident, and Problem Management
• Ability to work on a rotational shift basis to support APAC and UK time zones

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of application support experience in a support role
• Banking domain knowledge
• Experience with monitoring tools such as ITRS Geneos, AppDynamics, or Splunk
• Experience supporting Apache, WebLogic, or similar application servers
• Knowledge of IBM MQ Series, Tomcat, or job scheduling tools like Autosys and Control M
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
