Systems Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide L2 production support for large-scale applications, systems, and databases
• Participate in complex technical issues and initiatives to ensure system stability
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within technical support strategies
• Perform incident remediation, triage, and documentation to meet agreed SLAs
• Monitor application health and ensure all systems are operational before business hours
• Oversee nightly batch processing and ensure completion within business SLAs
• Coordinate releases with stakeholders to ensure smooth production deployments
• Support BCP/DR activities to ensure production environment readiness

Requirements

• 2+ years of Systems Engineering or Application Production Support experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree
• Proficiency with UNIX commands and SQL Server Queries
• Experience with job schedulers, preferably Autosys
• Strong understanding of ITIL concepts (Incident, Problem, and Change Management)
• Ability to work in rotational shifts (Morning and Afternoon shifts)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as PCF and Azure
• Knowledge of monitoring tools including ITRS Geneos, Grafana, AppDynamics, Splunk, or Sitescope
• Scripting skills in Shell, Perl, or PowerShell
• Experience with ETL processes or Thousand Eyes
