Systems Engineering and Integration Intern

Odys builds safe, sustainable aircraft to cut travel time in half on the world's busiest corridors. Their flagship aircraft, Alta, and UAV, Laila, focus on commercial logistics, medical transport, and defense missions using advanced aerospace engineering.

Responsibilities

• Participate in defining aircraft use-cases, capabilities, missions, and functions
• Assist with organizing, managing, and maintaining aircraft, system, and mission requirements
• Use engineering tools to capture and define system architecture, boundaries, and interfaces
• Assist in defining and implementing engineering processes for software change management and version control
• Participate in aircraft software verification and validation activities
• Support the integration and testing of ground control stations and software
• Perform hands-on integration and testing of mission equipment including computers, radios, and sensors
• Conduct lab and field tests, data collection, and analysis

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering, EE/ME, Computer Science, or a related field
• Basic understanding of engineering development processes
• Interest in systems thinking and visualizing entire systems
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
• Strong curiosity and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework in systems engineering
• Participation in student project teams like DBF, Formula SAE, or Robotics
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, or software integration
• Coding skills in Python or C/C++
• Interest in system architecture, system safety, and engineering processes
