Systems Engineer Specialist

Responsibilities

• Develop project scopes and objectives ensuring technical feasibility
• Identify key risks and develop engineering approaches to drive out risk
• Facilitate workshops including risk analysis, technical design, and requirements elicitation
• Provide leadership to other engineers and prioritize critical components
• Design and plan the lifecycle approach for complex projects and programmes
• Train and advise clients in Systems Engineering or Technical Architecture best practice
• Coordinate technical resources and third-party vendors for project execution
• Oversee project delivery to ensure they remain within scope and budget
• Create and maintain engineering artefacts such as system models, plans, and test methodologies
• Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs
• Maintain strong relations with clients and stakeholders

Requirements

• Degree level education or equivalent experience in a relevant technical domain
• Strong technical acumen to deep-dive into technical subject matter
• Experience working within software, networking, or cyber security domains
• Experience in Consultancy, large Systems Integrator, or public sector organisations
• Experience delivering projects to defence, government, national security, or law enforcement organisations
• Strong understanding of engineering tools and methodologies (V-model, agile, requirements management, etc.)
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
• Outstanding organisational and multi-tasking skills
