Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement disaster recovery for the provider-side server network
• Perform server and software upgrades to maintain security and performance standards
• Monitor and maintain system health, performance, and security across server environments
• Conduct server operational reviews and troubleshoot issues to ensure uptime
• Research system requirements and perform lab testing to evaluate new technologies
• Design, build, and implement infrastructure improvements and new system capabilities
• Commission and deploy virtual and physical servers
• Perform hardware repairs, upgrades, and installations

Requirements

• Technical Degree or equivalent experience with server hardware and virtualization
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server and Linux environments
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (DHCP, DNS, firewalls, network security)
• Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Elastic Stack, Grafana, SolarWinds, SNMP)
• Experience with backup solutions (e.g., Rubrik)
• Knowledge of Debian and RedHat-based system concepts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation one week per month
