Systems Engineer

About the Company

Rabot builds vision AI for warehouse packing operations. Cameras watch the pack line, software figures out where things are slow or wrong, and operators get real-time feedback that actually changes how they work.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize real-time software systems including video pipelines, inference engines, edge processing, and device communication
• Write performant code for critical paths and scripting for tooling, orchestration, and model integration
• Work with the hardware team on the full stack from camera to cloud, respecting hardware constraints
• Profile and optimize latency budgets, memory constraints, and CPU/GPU utilization on edge devices
• Ship reliable software to devices running in warehouse environments
• Improve deployment, testing, and monitoring for edge systems

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience writing software for production systems with real performance requirements
• Understanding of real-time constraints, latency, and throughput
• Comfort working close to hardware, including device constraints and communication protocols
• Ability to debug across layers from application code to system-level issues
• Experience writing code for unsupervised edge systems
• Strong problem-solving skills for niche hardware and undocumented APIs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with computer vision or perception systems (camera calibration, image processing, video encoding/decoding)
• Background in robotics or autonomous systems
• Experience with edge compute platforms and AI accelerators
• Experience with AI/ML model deployment on device (optimization, quantization, inference runtimes)
• Linux systems programming
• Experience shipping hardware products
