About the role
Responsibilities
- Define and manage system and subsystem requirements for battery energy storage system products
- Develop and own system-level budgets and subsystem allocations
- Create and oversee verification of requirements and test plans
- Drive future architecture changes and lead cross-functional decision-making
- Support and mentor fellow engineers on system-level impacts
- Act as subject matter expert for customer-facing technical documentation
- Support UL, NFPA, and UN compliance efforts
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience with high voltage electrical systems
- Mastery of electrical, thermal, and mechanical fundamentals
- Knowledge of systems engineering (requirement decomposition, V&V, interface management)
- Proficiency with analysis tools like Excel, Python, or MATLAB
- Experience in cross-functional project management and decision-making
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high voltage battery systems
- Product design experience with high-volume products
- Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., Jama, Polarion, Flow)
- Proficiency with Jira
