Systems Engineer (Linux)

Responsibilities

• Enhance and support configuration management code and automated processes to optimize performance
• Improve and support existing programs and processes that provision bare-metal servers
• Build and refine tools to ensure systems remain high-performing and efficient
• Lead initiatives in performance tuning through hardware and OS optimization
• Develop and maintain tooling to automate tasks related to server provisioning and storage management
• Implement infrastructure services that adhere to infrastructure-as-code principles
• Communicate status updates, ideas, and strategies with peers and stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or a similar field
• 5+ years of experience in Linux engineering, debugging, administration, and OS system provisioning (PXE/DHCP/TFTP/Grub)
• Extensive experience with configuration management at scale
• Proficiency in system/network tools including EBPF, tcpdump, strace, nmcli, systemd, ntp/ptp, lsof, nc, and nmap
• Solid knowledge of NFS/S3 storage and networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/UDP/multicast)
• Deep understanding of the Linux network stack and system performance analysis
• Experience with virtualization and VMWare for compute infrastructure
• A systematic approach to problem-solving and strong communication skills
