Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Understand technical requirements for performance and uptime to ensure infrastructure supports company objectives
• Oversee infrastructure deployments for new projects and deliver technical services meeting established standards
• Produce and maintain high-quality documentation for existing and new projects
• Implement and manage backup, storage, and disaster recovery systems
• Act as a point of escalation for critical technical issues
• Audit and maintain infrastructure configurations
• Mentor and support junior engineers
• Drive continuous improvement in infrastructure, processes, and cross-department communication

Requirements

• Must reside in Salt Lake City, Utah
• Proven IT engineering experience in a SaaS or enterprise environment
• Strong understanding of networking principles, including experience with firewalls and load-balancers
• Proficiency with Microsoft servers and services (Active Directory, IIS, SQL, and clustering)
• Experience administering Linux servers (Ubuntu preferred) and open-source services like Apache, RabbitMQ, or Elasticsearch
• Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Knowledge of storage solutions (SAN, NAS) and complex backup/DR implementations
• Understanding of security and compliance principles (e.g., SOC2, PCI-DSS)
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional work outside of normal business hours
