About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide system functional design and integration support for the Space Launch System (SLS) program.
- Control integrated system architecture through appropriate controlling documents and deliverables.
- Perform technical integration across multiple NASA Centers and diverse engineering disciplines including propulsion, avionics, and flight software.
- Develop strategic plans and negotiate resolution of open requirements and design issues to ensure closure of TBDs and TBRs.
- Lead integration activities between SLS, EGS, and Prime Contractor teams.
- Provide technical inputs and coordination for the SLS-to-Ground Systems Development and Operations Program (GSDOP) Interface Control Documents (ICD).
- Assist in technical evaluations of verification closure data and rationale.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering (or a related field).
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in systems engineering and integration.
- Proven experience in requirements management, system architecture definition, and functional design.
- Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries to resolve complex integration issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Working knowledge of digital engineering tools such as DNG, MagicDraw, or Power BI.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of the current SLS program and SLS Element interfaces.
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and relational database management.
- Familiarity with NASA Systems Engineering policies and verification procedures.
- Experience developing verification strategies and managing verification compliance data.
- Knowledge of launch vehicle programmatic planning and prime contractor oversight.
