Systems Engineer III

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis across data center infrastructure, including network, power, and physical layers
• Install, terminate, test, and maintain copper and fiber cabling systems in accordance with industry standards
• Use testing tools such as OTDRs, light meters, and cable testers to validate cable and fiber performance
• Support and maintain enterprise, mission-critical data center operations to ensure uptime and reliability
• Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, including rack layouts, cable maps, and asset inventories
• Utilize DCIM tools like Nlyte for asset tracking, capacity planning, and workflow management
• Partner with cross-functional teams including network engineering, facilities, and security to support deployments and incident resolution
• Execute data center projects including new builds, expansions, migrations, and decommissioning efforts
• Follow change management processes to ensure controlled and compliant infrastructure updates

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in systems engineering and systems programming, OR
• High School Diploma/GED and 10 years of experience in systems engineering and systems programming
• Expertise in troubleshooting network, power, and physical layers
• Hands-on experience with copper and fiber cabling installation and testing
• Experience with infrastructure documentation and asset tracking

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Windows Server, Red Hat Linux, AIX, or Mainframe environments
• Experience with Server Virtualization and Business Continuity Processes
• Understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, SNA, and NetBIOS
• Familiarity with Microsoft, VMware, Red Hat, or DevSecOps certifications
• Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation
