About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and refine MBSE models representing system, subsystem, and software architecture within a System-of-Systems environment.
- Create and manage architecture products using SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler to capture operational concepts, requirements, and functional architectures.
- Establish traceability between requirements, functions, software components, interfaces, and verification activities.
- Analyze and model existing legacy software architectures to support the migration from Ada to Java-based modular architectures.
- Model software services, modules, and interfaces to promote increased modularity and improved maintainability.
- Facilitate architecture reviews, model walkthroughs, and technical working groups to communicate design intent to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, or architecture.
- Proven experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles on complex systems.
- Proficiency with Cameo Systems Modeler (or MagicDraw) and SysML.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience modeling software-intensive systems and supporting migrations from monolithic to modular architectures.
- Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as DoDAF, UAF, or MODAF.
- Experience integrating MBSE artifacts with requirements management tools like IBM DOORS.
- Familiarity with Agile, DevSecOps, and iterative software development methodologies.
- Knowledge of Java software development lifecycles and legacy software analysis.
