About the role
Responsibilities
- Implement and execute physical security projects, including video surveillance, access control, and alarm technologies.
- Design integrated security solutions, including camera layouts, access control zones, and network infrastructure requirements.
- Conduct site surveys, assessments, and system integration testing across various platforms.
- Configure and test hardware components such as IP cameras, access control systems, and intercoms prior to deployment.
- Create technical documentation, system diagrams, as-built drawings, and custom reports using Excel and Google Sheets.
- Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, and installation teams to ensure design adherence and successful project delivery.
- Support system commissioning and provide technical training to end-users.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in the physical security or security systems industry.
- Hands-on experience configuring and testing IP cameras, access control, and intercom technologies.
- Proven experience performing physical security system integration testing.
- Expertise with OME security platforms, specifically Verkada and Avigilon.
- Strong foundational knowledge of Layer 1–Layer 3 networking concepts.
- Proficiency in developing technical documentation and custom reports using Excel and Google Sheets.
- Ability to travel regionally as required for project execution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Video Management Systems (VMS) such as Milestone XProtect, Genetec Security Center, or Avigilon Control Center.
- Experience with Access Control Systems like Lenel OnGuard, HID/Allegion, or AMAG Symmetry.
- Manufacturer certifications for Verkada or Avigilon.
- Knowledge of industry compliance standards such as FERPA, HIPAA, or SOX.
