Systems Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Execute model-based systems engineering development activities for strategic defense programs.
• Participate in the full systems development lifecycle, including trade studies, system design, requirements definition, and allocation.
• Develop critical systems artifacts such as interface control documents (ICDs), requirement traceability, and verification matrices.
• Engage in Agile team ceremonies, including sprint reviews, user story refinement, and product demos.
• Provide technical support to stakeholders by troubleshooting issues and ensuring smooth project execution.

Requirements

• STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Experience working in an Agile or DevOps development environment.
• Demonstrated understanding of fundamental systems engineering deliverables (requirements specifications, ICDs, etc.).
• Experience defining system requirements and collaborating with software and hardware teams for integration.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Magic Draw Cameo or Enterprise Architect using SysML.
• Experience designing distributed computing environments utilizing industry-standard protocols and LANs.
• Experience with MIL-STD hardened environments and military specifications.
• Background in capturing customer requirements and developing operations concepts.
