About the role
Responsibilities
- Optimizing architecture to achieve top-level product metrics such as cost, efficiency, energy/power density and availability
- Ownership of system-level performance and functional requirements
- Development of subsystem and component requirements in partnership with design engineers
- Performing or defining system modeling, simulation, and testing to validate system performance
- Establishing interface definitions across mechanical, electrical, and software teams
- Reinforcing system safety and reliability through DFMEAs, risk assessments, and hazard analyses
- Ensuring compliance with industry (UL) standards
Requirements
- BS or MS in Mechanical Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of design engineering or system engineering experience
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, power delivery, and thermal mechanics
- Experience with power electronics product development
- Proficiency in Python or Matlab
- Experience with requirement management tools like Doors or Jama
- Ability to write clear and testable engineering requirements
