Systems Engineer, Energy Storage

Responsibilities

• Optimizing architecture to achieve top-level product metrics such as cost, efficiency, energy/power density and availability
• Ownership of system-level performance and functional requirements
• Development of subsystem and component requirements in partnership with design engineers
• Performing or defining system modeling, simulation, and testing to validate system performance
• Establishing interface definitions across mechanical, electrical, and software teams
• Reinforcing system safety and reliability through DFMEAs, risk assessments, and hazard analyses
• Ensuring compliance with industry (UL) standards

Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of design engineering or system engineering experience
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, power delivery, and thermal mechanics
• Experience with power electronics product development
• Proficiency in Python or Matlab
• Experience with requirement management tools like Doors or Jama
• Ability to write clear and testable engineering requirements
