About the role
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end EMI/EMC engineering for an airborne platform, including the control plan, compliance roadmap, and integration strategy
- Translate platform-level electromagnetic environment requirements into measurable subsystem-level EMI/EMC requirements and KPIs
- Define and maintain the EMC Control Plan: grounding, bonding, shielding, filtering, and cable segregation philosophies
- Perform electromagnetic interference analysis across the platform: emissions/susceptibility, antenna-to-antenna coupling, and intermodulation
- Lead EM modeling and simulation using tools such as CST, FEKO, or HFSS
- Define zoning, bonding, and grounding architecture for metallic and composite structures
- Establish the EMI/EMC qualification and verification strategy against standards like MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, or DO-160
- Own the EMI/EMC test campaign: plans, procedures, chamber, and on-platform testing
- Coordinate cross-functional design decisions with airframe, avionics, EW, and propulsion teams
- Manage supplier technical governance for EMI/EMC compliance
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience in EMI/EMC engineering for airborne platforms
- Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory: transmission lines, antennas, and wave propagation
- Experience with EM simulation tools (CST, FEKO, HFSS, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with NATO/STANAG or national military airworthiness frameworks
- Experience designing grounding, bonding, and shielding schemes for complex platforms
- Experience executing EMI/EMC test campaigns including chamber and flight test verification
