Systems Engineer/Cyber Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform systems engineering activities to support the introduction of small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (SUAS) into service
• Assess design disclosure documentation to ensure compliance with technical requirements
• Develop, verify, and maintain accreditation documentation, risk assessments, and compliance artefacts
• Evaluate the effectiveness of security controls against frameworks such as ISM, Essential Eight, Cyberworthiness, and NIST
• Conduct security gap analysis, compliance assessments, and assurance activities
• Communicate technical findings in plain language to non-technical stakeholders, project managers, and military leadership

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Cyber Security, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience
• Active NV1 Security Clearance
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to simplify complex technical information for diverse audiences and engage effectively with stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, segmentation)
• Experience with system hardening for Windows, Linux, or embedded platforms
• Knowledge of the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC)
• Familiarity with cryptography, key management, and incident detection/response
• Experience with defence frameworks such as NIST 800-53 or STIGs
