Systems Engineer - Controls

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze electronic power steering system controls using dynamic system modelling and simulation
• Complete validation of control system requirements
• Provide technical leadership for projects incorporating complex electromechanical (Mechatronic) systems
• Design and optimize multiple system performance goals through requirements flow down
• Create system and subsystem specifications and integrate all aspects of system design
• Tune vehicle steering characteristics and diagnose/correct deficiencies in designs and prototypes
• Develop dynamic system models of electric power steering systems and calibrate performance
• Generate and troubleshoot new algorithms to enhance system performance

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
• Two (2) years of experience in the offered position or a related occupation
• Experience with PID, LQR/RHLQR, and Model Predictive Control (MPC) algorithms
• Proficiency in programming and simulation using Matlab/Simulink
• Experience performing engineering calculations using Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, mechanical systems, electronic systems, and mechatronics
