Systems Engineer (Compute & Storage)

Responsibilities

• Maintain cluster health and respond to issues across compute and storage infrastructure
• Manage capacity planning and perform upgrades for on-prem Kubernetes and Ceph clusters
• Design and implement upgrade procedures, runbooks, and automation for recurring operations
• Manage the lifecycle of a physical server and OS fleet across multiple geographic regions
• Contribute to architectural decisions and tooling improvements within the Infrastructure Engineering team

Requirements

• Strong Linux fundamentals
• Operational experience with on-prem Kubernetes or comparable container orchestration
• Experience with Ceph or other distributed storage systems
• Ability to work autonomously, scoping and executing on complex, unclear problems
• Proficiency in manual operational tasks when automation is not yet available

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Ansible or similar configuration management tools
• Track record of operating large-scale systems across geographically distributed sites
• Experience with sub-OS work, including firmware, BIOS, or BMC/IPMI
• Experience with both block and S3 storage implementations
