Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering efforts for missile defense systems, focusing on architecture, integration, and modeling within the Phantom Works National Teams.
• Define and evolve system architectures, requirements, and interfaces to support missile defense capabilities.
• Plan and execute integration and verification/validation (I&V) strategies, including defining tasks and monitoring completion.
• Build and maintain modeling and simulation tools to evaluate system performance against evolving threats.
• Collaborate with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), industry partners, and government stakeholders to align system priorities.
• Lead cross-functional teams and manage program-level risks, issues, and technology readiness assessments.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• 12 or more years of related engineering experience.
• Proven experience in systems engineering (e.g., Architecture, Integration, Requirements, or Test).
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including leading engineering teams or driving complex workstreams to success.
• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with missile-defense mission context, specifically Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC).
• Proficiency with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo or DOORS.
• Experience developing and tailoring Integration and Test (I&T) processes and metrics.
• Programming or scripting skills in Python, MATLAB, or Java for analysis and tool support.
• Experience performing system performance trade studies and mission effectiveness analyses.
