Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Maintain the health of Akuna’s Linux server platform, including design, deployment, and maintenance of high-performance trading environments
• Automate daily software and hardware tasks by writing and maintaining scripts and tools
• Investigate new products and techniques to improve environment efficiency and performance
• Manage architecture and maintenance of tier-based storage solutions
• Oversee server infrastructure at both local and third-party data centers
• Perform system analysis, monitoring, and performance tuning

Requirements

• Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• 4-6 years of professional systems engineering experience
• Advanced experience with Linux distributions (e.g., RedHat, Ubuntu)
• Experience managing K8s clusters and large-scale AWS Cloud environments
• Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting for automation
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Foreman
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools like Prometheus, Nagios, or Icinga
• Proficiency with virtualization and orchestration platforms including VMware and Terraform
• Knowledge of Linux kernel and low-latency performance tuning
• Experience troubleshooting multicast and TCP performance issues
• Familiarity with database systems such as PostgreSQL and MySQL
