Systems Engineer 3, Technical Solutions

Responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of enterprise systems such as Zendesk and Jira, driving improvements from assessment through implementation.
• Engineer solutions including integrations, automations, and internal tools to multiply the effectiveness of technical teams.
• Design and implement AI-powered features like intelligent routing and automated triage using LLMs and RAG.
• Contribute to the Datadog codebase by building support tooling and in-app experiences in collaboration with Engineering teams.
• Monitor, maintain, and iterate on production systems to ensure reliability and scalability.
• Partner with technical leadership to identify business bottlenecks and engineer effective technical fixes.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience with enterprise platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Zendesk, Jira) and production software.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Full-stack development capability, including backend services, APIs, and frontend integration.
• Experience building AI-powered features using LLMs, embeddings, RAG pipelines, or agent frameworks.
• Experience with web services, APIs, data pipelines, and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong systems thinking with the ability to design maintainable and scalable solutions.
• Demonstrated fluency with AI coding tools like Copilot or Claude.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience contributing to a large shared codebase with established engineering practices (code review, feature flags, observability).
• Background in technical support tooling or customer-facing business systems.
• Experience working in a high-growth B2B SaaS environment.
