About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site architectural support to the USINDOPACOM Requirements and Resources Directorate (J8) Edge Theater Architecture (ETA) Team.
- Facilitate the design, development, and evaluation of Network Theater Architectures.
- Support the development of architectural artifacts, including diagrams, models, and specifications.
- Research, design, test, and evaluate new technologies and solutions to ensure alignment with DoW and USINDOPACOM standards.
- Design and implement computer and information networks, including LAN, WAN, and Software Defined Networks (SDN).
- Oversee strategic interface for system of systems configuration and network operations.
- Provide on-site support and troubleshooting during experimentation events.
- Perform network planning, modeling, analysis, and capacity planning.
- Travel approximately 15% annually to the Mainland U.S. and Allied/Partner nations for conferences and exercises.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Active Top-Secret security clearance (US Citizenship required).
- 5+ years of experience supporting the Department of War (DoW), including at least 3 years in military operations.
- 5+ years of experience in systems integration and/or network infrastructure for complex DoW networks.
- Knowledge of the USINDOPACOM Area of Responsibility (AOR).
- Proficiency in network technologies including SDN, SD-WAN, routing, switching, and firewalls.
- Experience with multi-vendor firewalls, switches, and routers.
- Understanding of cloud networking design for hybrid and cloud-native deployments.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol suite, IP subnets, and routing protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience supporting the DoW/DoD, with 5+ years in military operations.
- 5 years of experience working specifically within the USINDOPACOM AOR.
- 5 years of experience with DoW weapons systems and/or joint fires.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
- DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification at IAT Level II.
