About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain MATLAB/Simulink models for system-level modelling analysis and algorithm evaluation
- Develop and test algorithms for satellite tracking and acquisition features
- Support PNT-related studies, including algorithm development and system trade-offs for timing, positioning, and navigation resilience
- Incorporate AI tools in the design, simulation, and test processes
- Perform link budget analysis, sensitivity studies, and trade-off analysis across mission scenarios
- Contribute to Concept of Operations (CONOPS) capture
- Assist in defining, managing, and tracing system requirements
- Document and present simulation results and system analyses to technical and non-technical audiences
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across RF, software/Firmware, and systems quality
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or a closely related field (Bachelor, Masters, or Ph.D.)
- 5 years of experience in system modelling, simulation, or systems engineering
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for algorithm modelling and analysis
- Strong background in statistical signal processing, including spectral estimation and subspace decomposition
- Experience in Phased array processing, beamforming, tracking algorithms, and PNT for satellite terminal applications
- Experience in satellite communications system modelling, link budget analysis, and GEO/LEO orbital mechanics
- Experience deriving value from AI tools in engineering and testing processes
- Familiarity with CONOPS definition and requirements specification
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python and/or C++ for algorithm prototyping
- Experience with sensor fusion, Kalman filtering, and closed-loop control design
- Exposure to FPGA implementation of algorithms
- Experience working in satellite or aerospace projects (CubeSat, nanosat, or larger missions)
- Knowledge of ECSS and MIL standards
