Systems Administrator

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain RedHat Linux virtual machines in Amazon AWS cloud infrastructure
• Evaluate systems for IAVA compliance and apply security updates and patches
• Perform command line system administration tasks on virtual machines
• Handle regular system backups and periodically test functionality
• Communicate with developers and DevOps team members for support
• Troubleshoot server issues and administer customer accounts
• Deploy monitoring tools, applications, and tools
• Assist with escalated customer tickets
• Perform installation and cabling of equipment

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with polygraph (within last 6 years)
• 10 years of systems administration experience OR technical bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience
• Linux command line system administration (CentOS, RedHat, Amazon Linux, or equivalent)
• Experience applying system updates via yum or equivalent patching repository

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within a cloud environment (Amazon AWS, Azure)
• Knowledge of RedSeal Network Mapping tool
• Knowledge of Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, or NiFi
• Experience with Syslog/NxLog
• Experience with Nagios or similar monitoring applications
• Scripting experience in Python or Perl
