Systems Administrator

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and improve virtualized environments (VMware) and core on-prem and cloud services (Google and Azure).
• Manage Windows Server operations, including file shares, NTFS permissions, backups, and patching.
• Administer Active Directory, managing user/group lifecycles and access policies.
• Support LAN services (DHCP/DNS), VLAN configuration, and secure VPN access.
• Administer and support source control services including Perforce and Git to ensure stable developer workflows.
• Triage outages and security incidents, implementing preventative improvements and security hardening.
• Automate repetitive IT tasks using PowerShell and other scripting methods.
• Maintain clear technical documentation, including runbooks, change logs, and diagrams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in systems administration or IT operations within a Windows-centric environment.
• Proven experience administering Windows Server and Linux server environments.
• Practical experience with VMware and VM lifecycle management.
• Strong networking fundamentals, including VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and structured troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory and identity/access management.
• Experience supporting Perforce and Git (permissions, user management, and maintenance).
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for task automation.
• Ability to work full-time on-site in Vancouver, BC.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience administering Fortinet technologies (policies, VPNs, and security features).
• Experience with endpoint management for both Windows and macOS.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Experience supporting a creative or production studio environment.
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery planning and testing.
